Big NYC Child Welfare Merger: Rising Ground's Mucatel on Running $130M Org.

This summer, two of New York City's most-well known human services organizations––Rising Ground and Edwin Gould Services––announced a mega merger, responding to changes in the Big Apple's child welfare system.

"It's high-stakes work that occasionally brings intense scrutiny," notes Michael Fitzgerald in his recent piece in the Chronicle of Social Change.. In his story, Fitzgerald interviews Rising Ground CEO Alan Mucatel to find out more about what drove the two organizations together, what's on the horizon, and what new services the combined organization can how offer those whom they serve.

Rising Ground has an annual budget of $130 million, employs nearly 2,000, and supports over 25,000 New Yorkers.
