Knight to Dish Advice for New and Stalled Fiber Projects at Great Lakes Connect

One of the nation's hottest regions for fiber-broadband deployment is the midwest. The Great Lakes region is home to exciting fiber projects ranging from county-wide deployments in Ohio, to city-wide deployments in Michigan, and a renewed statewide plan in Illinois. It's why Harrison Edwards is this year's media sponsor of Great Lakes Connect Broadband Development Conference, September 30-October 2 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Our Executive VP of Broadband, Bob Knight, will moderate "Getting it Done: Funding, New Models, and Political Will " and share our marketing philosophies as a panelist on "How Marketing is the Difference Between Life and Death of Your Network."

"I'm particularly excited about the Getting it Done session as we've assembled an all-star group of battle-tested professionals who will be focused on effective solutions for challenges in deploying and growing fiber networks," said Knight.

The Getting it Done! session will address the following::

  • How to build investor confidence in fiber networks

  • What is the sweet spot for fiber network scope that investors look for?

  • What is the role of elected officials?

  • The best advice for communities getting going on a fiber project

  • Best advice for communities with a stalled fiber project

  • Are electric co-ops the model of the future?

Speaking will be Knight, Chris Perlitz, Managing Director, Municipal Capital Markets; Kim McKinley, Chief Marketing Office, Utopia Fiber; and Tom DiFrisco, Broadband Solutions, Fujitsu Network Communication.

At Harrison Edwards, Knight leads a team of PR/marketing and community engagement specialists who focus on growing community support, building political will, and getting fiber projects approved. The team also helps to drive project take rates to bring new customers who will monetize new networks. They work with communities from coast-to-cost, both large and small.

Be sure to look for the Harrison Edwards team and connect with Bob at Great Lakes Connect.
